The Annual Congress of the Central European Diabetes Association (CEDA) is taking place in Düsseldorf this year and will focus on diabetes and the heart, precision diabetology, and new therapeutic approaches.

The Central European Diabetes Association (CEDA) is an international scientific society that promotes exchange between diabetes experts, particularly in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. Originating from the International Danube Symposia, CEDA organizes annual rotating congresses and promotes, among other things, exchange on regional challenges in diabetes research and care.

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, consisting of Georgia Xourafa, Christian Herder, and myself, I am delighted to welcome you to the CEDA 2026 congress in Düsseldorf.

The conference will be organized by the German Diabetes Center (DDZ), where translational and clinical diabetes research have always worked closely together. Discussing the latest research findings and their impact on the clinical practice is the overarching goal  of this congress. We expect an intensive exchange between experts and next generation scientists and clinicians from Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe. Thus, you can look forward to an exciting scientific program that addresses among other topics: diabetes and heart, liver and kidney diseases, precision diabetology, nutrition and lifestyle, to name just a few.

With its central location, lively cultural and fashion scene, as well as excellent gastronomy, Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, also offers the ideal setting for sightseeing, networking and making new friends!

So, I would like to cordially invite you to join us for CEDA 2026.

With best regards

Prof. Dr. Michael Roden
